On-line blended Japanese Course

Japanese on-line blended course for Sixth Form students

The Japanese on-line blended course starts on Saturday 19th October and ends on the 21st December 2019. It will run on Saturdays from 10 am.

There will be one face-to-face meeting followed by eight on-line live classes. Each class will last 1 hour. There will also be a celebration event at SOAS at the end of the course.

The course is aimed at beginners. There will be lots of individual and group work in and out of class.

This course is suitable for students living in and outside London. There is funding available for travel expenses.


This activity is funded by the SOAS Access Agreement and Widening Participation. The aim of the SOAS Widening Participation team is to increase the number of students from under-represented groups to study in Higher Education. To ensure that we are targeting the right students we have included some demographic questions. For more information please take a look at our website.

The aim of this activity is to promote progression to higher education (HE) by pupils from backgrounds currently under-represented in HE. We use the information in applications to measure how well the activity is achieving its aim.

Permission to hold and use personal data:
By submitting an application, you agree to the information provided in this form being held and used by SOAS to evaluate widening participation activities. Your information will also be made available to members of staff at SOAS who need to see and use it, and the Office for Fair Access (OFFA)/ Office for Students (OfS) for this purpose on the understanding that no information will be published that could identify you. Your information will be held securely on SOAS’ servers which are based in the UK, and will be kept for five years.

By submitting this form you also agree to us contacting the supporting teacher and guardian named on this form to confirm they give permission for you to attend. 

Your information will be held securely for the duration of the survey on SurveyGizmo's servers which are based in Germany, and after the survey is complete the information will be deleted from SurveyGizmo and transferred to SOAS’ servers which are based in the UK, and will be kept for five years.
