First Minister Mentoring Year Two

Please read before continuing

Following the success of last year, Young Scot is once again delighted to be working with the Scottish Government to help find a young woman to be mentored by the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

It's brilliant that you want to be part of this experience. All young women living in Scotland aged 18 to 23 (on the deadline day) are welcome to apply. You have until 31st of May to apply. We'll be in touch after this date to update you on the next steps

Mentoring is a powerful way of helping young women achieve their goals and will help to create a new generation of positive role models to inspire other young women.

Young Scot is committed to ensuring that applicants come from diverse backgrounds, and geographies, and that we receive applications from young people with additional support needs and all those who identify as women.

During the mentoring experience and the application process, the Scottish Government will meet all reasonable expenses, including childcare and travel.

How to fill in this form

As part of the application process, you will need a referee and we'll also be asking for a little bit about your current situation.

You will also be asked to provide a written response to the following questions (you will fill this in later) but you can stop now and think about it before returning. You can save this form and return to it at any time too.

"How would being mentored by the First Minister change your life and help you to make life better for others?"

With that in mind let's begin. If you have any questions or would like to enter using a different format please contact June Osborne ( or call 0131 313 2488.
