The Common Assessment Standard comprises an industry-agreed question set based on existing PQ questionnaires, including PAS 91, and corresponding assessment standards.

Criteria for Amendments
In order to maintain the key principles of the Common Assessment Standard, any suggested amendments will need to satisfy the following requirements:
- All PAS 91 questions must be included, unless there is now a specific reason for removing them. Amendments may be possible to the wording of the PAS 91 questions, the guidance and their position within the Common Assessment Standard
- Relevant to PQ Stage 1: Business Assurance (i.e. is focused on business assurance and not trade specific technical assurance)
- Applicable to the majority of companies
- Capable of assessment – not ‘information gathering’
- Does not duplicate another question
- Inclusion supported by the majority of the industry.
