Creativity for lifelong learning: scouting initiatives

Introduction

Dear Sir/Madam,

We invite you to participate in the survey, the purpose of which is to identify policies and initiatives aimed at fostering creativity as a transversal skill for lifelong learning.

The survey is carried out by PPMI, which was contracted by the Human Capital and Employment Unit of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre to conduct the study 'Creativity - a transversal skill for lifelong learning. An overview of existing concepts and practices'. The aim of the study is to reflect on the existing concepts, definitions and frameworks of creativity, and identify practices of how creativity is promoted across settings and levels of education.

This survey will help to compile an inventory of existing initiatives and support the analysis of approaches and methods employed to teach and assess creativity as a transversal skill. The survey includes three questions only, hence it will take no more than 10 minutes for you to fill in. We would particularly appreciate if you shared the examples of policies and/or initiatives aimed at fostering creativity as a transversal skill that have been adopted and implemented since 2010 for lifelong learning. These may include:
  • Regulatory and financing public policy measures as well as grass-root initiatives;
  • Policy measures and initiatives targeting different age groups and profiles, e.g. learners, teachers, employees, the unemployed or vulnerable groups;
  • Policy measures and initiatives implemented in different types of settings of education (formal and non-formal, institutional, workplace, distance learning, etc.);
  • Policy measures and initiatives tailored to different levels of education - from early childhood, primary, general secondary and vocational education and training, to adult learning and higher education;
  • Completed and on-going projects as well as those which are going to start in the next three months.

While we understand that our request comes at a difficult time due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, we would very much appreciate your support.

Thank you in advance for your collaboration!
