Survey of Parents' Attitudes Towards VET

Survey of Parents' Attitudes towards VET as a Career Pathway for Young People

Thank you for participating in the Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships Information Service (AATIS) survey of parents' attitudes towards Vocational Education and Training (VET) and future career pathways.

This survey is part of a project that aims to understand how parents influence young people about career choices so that we can provide better information about how they can help young people make the most informed career decisions.

If you are a parent, we encourage you to complete the survey.

If you are a parent, taking the survey means you will be helping us understand the attitudes of parents towards VET and to understand what parents think about the career opportunities that will exist for young people into the future.

You will be asked some basic personal details in the survey. These details will not be used to identify you except if at the end of the survey you tell us that you answer 'Yes' to being interested in and consent to participating in further research about this topic and provide your contact details.

A later stage of this project will involve interviews and focus groups with volunteers. This stage of the project will not take place until after the COVID-19 pandemic has been declared to no longer be a public health emergency, and may be conducted online. This will ensure the health and safety of participants and researchers.

Should you have any other questions about your involvement in the survey, please email us at research@aatis.com.au
